President Prabowo's presence at the forum emphasized Indonesia's commitment to strengthening international cooperation in wildlife conservation and environmental conservation.
Before attending the main event, President Prabowo held a brief meeting with King Charles III of England in the State Dining Room. The two leaders also received a brief explanation of the Peusangan Elephant Conservation Philanthropy Meeting from Marc Palahi, CEO of the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance. Afterward, President Prabowo and King Charles proceeded to the Grand Hall to attend the final session of the meeting, which had been underway since the morning.
The presence of the two leaders served as a strong symbol of political and moral support for the Sumatran elephant conservation effort and the strengthening of international partnerships in biodiversity.
The Sumatran elephant conservation program aims to create safe wildlife corridors, reduce human-elephant conflict, and protect the remaining critical habitat of the Sumatran elephant. This approach also emphasizes local community involvement in forest rehabilitation and sustainable conservation.
